We will be running workshops for NUI Galway staff members prior to semester one. Please find more information and registration links below.

Irish Blackboard User Group Meeting

30th August, 10am - 5pm

We are pleased to invite Blackboard users from NUI Galway, and across Ireland, to join us for our next Irish User Group meeting. Members of the Blackboard team will be joining us on the day to run through some exciting new ways to enhance your teaching through technology. Come along to learn collaboratively with your colleagues. We will also run a Collaborate session to allow users to join online. Please indicate this in your registration.

Getting Your Course Ready

Do you want to re-use your materials from last year, but need a little help to copy the content and tidy up materials? Do you want to set up your Grade Centre? Would you like to track attendance?

This 1-hour workshop assumes basic existing knowledge of Blackboard and will help you get to up to date with the new version of Blackboard.

Enhancing Assessment Using Blackboard

This hands-on workshop demonstrates the various tools within Blackboard that can support assessment and focuses on good practice in assessment design. Participants will learn about the purposes of each tool and explore the user experience from both staff and student perspective.

Turnitin Feedback Studio

This workshop is targeted at users who would like to make the most of Turnitin for assessment and feedback using Feedback Studio. 

Turnitin (the license for which is based on usage levels/user numbers) should be used for assessment if you are particularly interested in 'similarity reports', automated checking for plagiarism, or to use their rich feedback tools (Feedback Studio).
