Access your OneDrive
To gain quick access to your OneDrive for Business account you can access your files stored in the cloud via a lectern computer in a lecture theatre, seminar or classroom. This article describes how to do this.
Use the Novell Application Launcher (NAL)
To access your OneDrive account and files, you should click on the OneDrive icon in the Novell Application Launcher (NAL) window.
You will be asked to authenticate, and can then locate your file.
Type in your NUI Galway ID@nuigalway.ie (e.g. email@example.com), and your usual NUI Galway password.
Locate your file(s)
Go to your OneDrive files, and navigate to the correct one:
You will be asked to authenticate again (if opening in the app).
You can then select to share this in Bb Collaborate, Zoom or Teams.
If using Blackboard Collaborate, you can upload your file to your virtual classroom PRIOR to going to the lecture theatre, to save time, and avoid the need to access your file via OneDrive or a USB drive. Your file will be available when you access the virtual classroom link in the venue. Note that this will only work with sharing your powerpoint as a file (and not in cases where you wish to share your powerpoint as an application).
Information on using Presenter view
Some lecturers have a preference to use Presenter view. Using PowerPoint presenter view shows you the current slide, the next slide, and your speaker notes.
Tips on using presenter view in the lecture theatres:
- If you Open in browser, your presentation will display fully in a web browser. Note that you will not have access to PowerPoint presenter view, as this works only with Open in App (see next).
- If you select to Open in App, and are using presenter view, ensure you extend the desktop in the venue.
